Tubeless vs TPU Tubes: Which Setup Makes More Sense on 10PLUS Wheels?
Both can be light and fast. The better choice depends on whether you value puncture sealing or simplicity.
Tubeless in a nutshell
Tubeless uses sealant to plug many small punctures automatically. It's especially attractive on gravel and for riders who regularly meet thorns, glass or rough shoulders.
The downsides are setup, sealant top-ups and the chance of a roadside problem when a hole is too big to seal.
TPU in a nutshell
TPU tubes pack down very small and can save weight over conventional butyl tubes. They're still tubes, though, so a puncture usually means replacing or patching one.
If you want a clean, simple setup with no sealant, TPU is a compelling option.
Which fits 10PLUS best?
Both work on a compatible 10PLUS wheel. The choice comes down to the tyre/rim system and how much maintenance you're willing to do, not the wheel brand.
For gravel, we lean tubeless. For riders who want low maintenance and easy roadside fixes, TPU is often the more appealing system.
Our verdict
There's no universal winner. Pick tubeless for puncture protection and gravel versatility; pick TPU for simplicity and less mess.
