Tubeless-Ready 10PLUS Wheels: What You Still Need to Do

Tubeless-ready doesn't mean fit the tyre and go. Here's what a 10PLUS wheel arrives ready for — and what's still your job.

What tubeless-ready means

A tubeless-ready rim is designed to work with a tubeless tyre and an airtight rim tape and valve setup. It doesn't mean every tyre will mount easily or every setup will seal first time.

The 10PLUS wheels we looked at arrived with rim tape and valves already fitted. That's convenient, but still inspect the tape before you mount tyres.

The setup checklist

Check the rim tape, fit the right tubeless valve, mount a compatible tyre and add the right amount of sealant. Then inflate and make sure the bead is seated evenly.

A sealed rim isn't a sealed tyre. The tyre and sealant are part of the system too.

Why this matters on gravel

Gravel riders love tubeless because sealant can close lots of small punctures without a roadside tube change. The trade-off is setup and maintenance.

If you mostly ride on the road and hate sealant, TPU tubes can be a simpler alternative.

Our 10PLUS recommendation

Every current 10PLUS road and gravel wheelset in our research is sold as tubeless-ready. For gravel, the wider Gravel T/E Series rims are the more natural match for modern gravel tyres.
