Best 10PLUS Gravel Wheels: T Series vs E Series
38mm or 45mm, steel or ceramic: a simple buying guide to the 10PLUS gravel range.
The recommendation
For most gravel riders, the Gravel T Series 38mm is the one to buy first. You get the wider gravel rim without paying for the premium E Series.
Choose the E Series if lower weight, ceramic bearings and 45T engagement are worth the extra money to you. Choose 45mm if your routes are fast and open.
Gravel T Series
The T Series uses a 36T ratchet and steel bearings, in 38mm and 45mm depths. The 38mm rim is 25mm internal; the 45mm is 24mm.
It's the straightforward value option and the easiest wheelset to recommend for mixed-surface riding.
Gravel E Series
The E Series keeps the 38/45mm choice and adds ceramic bearings, 45T engagement and a lighter build. 10PLUS marketing leads with a “200g lighter” headline; the official per-depth figures show smaller real differences.
That's exactly why this site quotes the depth-specific figure instead of repeating a rounded marketing number.
38 vs 45
38mm is the mixed-terrain default. 45mm makes more sense if you carry speed for long stretches on smoother, faster gravel or tarmac.
Gravel speed isn't just about aero — tyre volume, pressure and handling can matter more.
The pick
Best value: Gravel T Series 38mm. Best premium: Gravel E Series 38mm. Faster routes: 45mm.
