10PLUS Carbon Wheels Buying Guide: Which Wheelset Should You Buy?

Road or gravel? T or E? 38, 45, 50 or 60mm? Use this guide to get to the right 10PLUS wheelset fast.

Step 1: road or gravel

If you ride a road bike on road tyres, start with the Road range. If you regularly run wider gravel tyres on unpaved surfaces, go for the Gravel range.

Don't choose a gravel wheel just because it sounds tougher, or a road wheel just because it's more aero. Rim width and the tyres you run matter more.

Step 2: T or E

The T Series is the standard tier: 36T and steel bearings. The E Series is premium: 45T, ceramic bearings and a lighter build.

For value, T. For the premium build, E.

Step 3: depth

Road: 38mm for climbing and mixed terrain, 50mm for all-round use, 60mm for fast, flatter riding. Gravel: 38mm for mixed and technical riding, 45mm for faster routes.

If this is your first carbon wheelset and you only want one, 50mm road or 38mm gravel is the easiest place to start.

Step 4: compatibility

Confirm axle spacing, Center Lock rotors, freehub type and tyre/rim compatibility. The usual 10PLUS disc standard is 12x100/12x142, with QR versions listed for compatible older bikes.

Your cassette decides HG, Micro Spline or XDR.

Step 5: checkout

Check active coupons, final shipping and the exact configuration before you pay, and save a screenshot of the options you selected.

When the wheels arrive, check the rim tape, true, spoke tension and freehub before your first serious ride.

The simple menu

Road value: T 50mm. Road premium: E 50mm. Road climbing: T 38mm. Gravel value: T 38mm. Gravel premium: E 38mm.

That covers most riders. The other configurations are there for riders with a specific reason to choose them.
